Network Requirements

The networking requirements are pretty basic for a Soundwall.

• Soundwall will broadcast a device AP when first turned on and not connected to a network
• Soundwall has no way to accept an agreement when you put the Soundwall onto a wifi network so if this is the case for your internal/test network we would need to be on a whitelist
• Soundwall utilizes the Bonjour and AirPlay protocols for service detection and streaming respectively (i.e., same as an AppleTV)
• Soundwall utilizes some broadcast/peer-to-peer UDP messaging for communications between the Soundwall and the mobile application

 

One or more of these are the most common networking issues that we run into when installing into a corporate or guest type network.  Typical we don’t have any of the issue when installing into a home but business tend to be more restrictive.
